Fred Muram

Posted by French Blast on 11/29/2008 10:16:00 PM 0 comments
Maybe we should titled our blog design, fashion and photographers between Paris and Singapore. We admired the work of Maleonn Ma, Li Wei or Leschik for last months. Today we focus on a canadian photographer: Fred Muram. Actually, we like the series of photos he had taken, called: kissing the ceiling. For some of you, the idea could be a little bit silly, but we like the result of these photos:

tres bien shop: swedish style

Posted by French Blast on 11/27/2008 05:59:00 PM 0 comments
Tres bien shop sounds french but it is not: this shop is swedish. I love this shop because the shop webdesign is very minimalist and the outfits are very original.
Various designers are represented, some of them are swedish but not all of them. But for sure most of them are talented!

Portrait Day @ MAAD

Posted by French Blast on 11/21/2008 05:38:00 PM 0 comments
With a little delay, let us tell you about our experience as, we (plan b), got skeched at the MAAD by the Organisation Of Illustrator Council (OIC) saturday nov 1st.

MAAD stands for Market of Artist & Designers. It happens every first weekend of the month at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore and OIC is a group of artist from Singapore and elsewhere...

First you sit down in front of a bunch of designers ready to sketch your portrait in 15 min...whoever, like myself, has never been sketched will probably find it really strange to be stared at by 12 or more pair of eyes.

I really tried to keep still and serious, though my leg was feeling as if a thousands needles were tickling me after 10 minutes. Once the time is up you just have to choose as many portraits as you like and pay for 8 S$ each.
Next Portrait session sat 6 dec 2 to 7 pm

Thats what we look like from ETERNAZ point of view...

Poladroid

If you want to give a different taste to your photos, an old 70's taste. Try Poladroid, this application will transform your digital pictures in fake (unfortunately) polaroid images. But it's pretty fun!

Terry and Barack

I've always been a great fan of Terry Richardson's work. I found this recent pic of him with Obama. I just love the freshness and sincere laughter it releases (hopefully not too much photoshop in it). thanks to anti-corporation

... in picture. Look at this funny website, whose name is quite explicit: brokershandsontheir facesblog. Those photos are very beautiful and I'm sure that the model of this photos had other problems than to be taken in pictures...

Beautiful and original bagdes

"Youpppi" is a GREAT French word to express hapiness and joy, for example, when you get good news or, like me today, when you found a good idea!

I checked out Cheeky Molly and it will be my first stop to solve my yearly problem of Christmas shopping. Plus, I will be totally tuned to my new fashion idea : sharing Singapore imagination with my very trendy French friends...Molly you made my day!

Singaporean artist promotion via T-Shirt

Posted by French Blast on 11/09/2008 01:15:00 AM 0 comments
I'd like to show you a site which presents design and fashion in Singapore: all in one! You can buy art and tee-shirt at once. The concept of crowningstroke is simple: the site organized a design competition and the winning designs have been printed on a tee. Each designer will earn a percentage on their t-shirts' sales. By buying those tees, you can be smart and support artists that you love and let it know.
The concept is quite well known and you will find equivalent shops in France as La Fraise (Strawberry in french) or Design by human in California. But I appreciate that Crowningstroke promote artists from Singapore!
Moreover, we met them at Maad and they explained to us that whereas the aim of the sites mentioned above are at first commercial, the objective of Crowning stroke is to put artists first!

The other Singapore

Posted by French Blast on 11/07/2008 03:26:00 PM 0 comments
We have not been in Singapore very long. We've just moved from France in July 08. Some friends have planned to come or have already visited us and we never know what to show them besides the usual Chinatown or Merlion statue. Of course shopping is always a good option, Orchard or Vivocity are good to be seen once, but thanks to Bloesem, I found a good alternative to this classical shopping tour where (too) famous brandnames can be found. The tour proposed by Charlene is charming because she presents both shops and typical singaporian activities (food for example) that are a little bit hidden from traditional tourist paths. I have not visited all the shops listed yet such as Casualpoet, laine's Papeterie, Soon Lee, Kinokuniya, Spotlight but they are on my to do list for next week ends.

Reflections Hotel

Posted by French Blast on 11/03/2008 03:14:00 PM 1 comments
We were in Bangkok last week-end, and we found what we can call a boutique hotel: Reflections, where every single room has been designed by a different artist. We had booked a room in another hotel before finding this place but we definitely want to go back to Bangkok and sleep in one of those rooms.

Look at those photo taken from the website:

Magic Flashlight

Posted by French Blast on 11/01/2008 09:36:00 PM 2 comments
Not in Singapore, but winter time is going to be very soon in some countries and France won't escape it. Zero degree celcius has already been reached in the morning in France(My grand father told me, it must be true). Enjoy this video of skateboarding found on journal graphic. And watch out the special effects! Quite impressive!
