Sorry I'm late, I mean I'm really late

Posted by French Blast on 5/30/2009 04:09:00 PM 0 comments
Sorry I'm late seems to be the buzz video of the week. First of all Sorry I'm late, a short stop motion video made by Tomas Mankovsky was spotted by It's nice that 10 days ago then I have seen it on Fubiz and Swiss Miss yesterday! Would this video be the most viral current video? I must admit that the work is impressive but for this week Wash your hands too is still my favorite video!

More viral than Susan Boyle: Wash your hands too

Posted by French Blast on 5/28/2009 04:24:00 PM 2 comments
This video deserves to be watched as many times as Susan Boyles' one. I am not sure that the entire world will understand where is Orchard Road, but at least everyone has heard about the mean H1N1 virus! Congratulations Mr Brown for this funny song. And I swear that I wash my hands too!

When art meets true geeks

Posted by French Blast on 5/26/2009 04:51:00 PM 1 comments
Some real true geeks had a fabulous idea: they tried to make electronic components as simple as Lego. If you can recognise three colors you'll be able to build any electronic circuits. You don't need to take your soldering iron because the pre-engineered circuit boards are ended by magnets! It's hard to figure out how this thing can work. But littlebits (the name of this project) will teach you how you will be able to play with this toy. I understand that now electronics is not anymore in the hands of the big players and their R&D team but thanks to littlebits we, all, will be able to create electronic artwork!

Ayah Beird, the inventor of this geeky piece of art made a video to explain how it works because I'm sure that I haven't been really clear. Even in french I would have had some difficulties:

Art: Potatoes are not only french fries

Posted by French Blast on 5/22/2009 05:48:00 PM 2 comments
Ginou Choueri is a libanese artist based in Beirut. She decided to paint human faces on potatoes! Why? I will simply quote her: "I chose the potato to portray human faces because of the many striking parallels. Not only is their skin porous like ours, but their skin texture and color is very similar, and like us, they come in different sizes, shapes and forms. Potatoes grow, live, and then decay, mirroring the ephemeral existence and fragility of our own human nature."

The award-winning french comicbook artist Joann Sfar ('Rabbi's Cat', 'Little Vampire', 'Professor's Daughter') is directing a biopic of the life of Serge Gainsbourg. The movie will be released beginning of 2010. Joann Sfar is one of my french favorite comicbook artist and Gainsbourg in some aspects fascinates me. I am very excited to watch this movie but I hope that I will be able to see it in Singapore... not so sure!

Global warming by Amelia Roberts

The artist Amelia Roberts sum up perfectly two different issues related to ecology and economy through these two illustations! From my point of view: I would consider Us not only as the United States but also as developed countries, including Singapore and France.
